A side chair with a punch of personality, Flint walks a fine line between primary form and technical details.
The Flint side chair reflects the simplicity of it's namesake: a tool historically used in the wilderness to create fire.
From a side view, the lines of the chair are crisp and technical, and the negative space provides a sense of lightness. Viewing the chair from the front, it is much friendlier and welcoming. The lines are softened by the radius at each corner of the steel, similar to the smooth edges of a well-used stone. The low profile seat cushion, ergonomically proportioned dimensions, and natural metal flex in the backrest make for a surprisingly comfortable place to take a seat.
Flint is made out of thick aluminum sheet, that has been CNC laser cut and formed using a brake. The chair is composed of only four parts, and is assembled in a matter of minutes using the same simple fastener system used on the Selkirk dining table. Available in a variety of powder coating colours and upholstery options.
